Get Outside
From a new Kansas state park to a trail network connecting communities across the county, Allen County offers plenty of ways to explore outdoors.
Lehigh Portland State Park in Iola transforms a former cement quarry into a distinctive recreation destination, with a spring-fed lake, limestone cliffs, camping and approximately 14 miles of trails for hiking, running and mountain biking. The park connects to a broader trail network that includes the Prairie Spirit Trail State Park and Southwind Rail Trail, which links Iola and Humboldt.
In Humboldt, Base Camp Humboldt offers cabins, camping, bikes and kayaks, making it another home base for exploring the area.

From Iola’s historic downtown square to Humboldt’s nationally recognized revitalization, Allen County’s communities offer plenty to explore.
